Today, while looking for something else on the Microsoft site (Q2 earnings data), I noticed an advert to try to test drive Vista
“No installation required, try it today for your business”.
So I clicked on the “Take A Test Drive” button and was presented with a Vista desktop in my browser window. Except that clicking on the Windows, More Information, Refer a Friend, Buy Now, or Provide Feedback buttons did nothing. No popups, no warning about browser incompatibility, nada.
Marketing message to me: Windows Vista has a pretty interface but does not work.
Test drive done.

Were you running Windows XP SP2 and Internet Explorer 7? I’m sure that was the only platform Microsoft tested.

Nope it was Firefox as IE7 breaks some work stuff I need.
Although it sounds like Microsoft may force the IE 7 issue in Feb when they start rolling it out even if you’ve asked them not to.
I’m a bit surprised they don’t even say that my browser is not supported.
