Two days ago a sales rep dropped by to tell me that the fiber work they’d been working on down the street was finally ready for rollout. I’ve been wanting to try out IPTV and fiber access so it was a pretty quick sell for me. Since it’s month-to-month and installation and the first month is free I decided to try it out. As a bonus it is less expensive than what I’m paying for cable TV/internet access now.
We went through the order process and at the end found out my address does not qualify for service. The rep was quite surprised as he’d been told he could sell to the entire street. He told me how to get on their wait list, apologized for the inconvenience and went on his way.
This afternoon I tried their address qualifier and sure enough my address does not qualify. So I tried my neighbor on one side; it qualified! I tried my neighbor on the other side and the same thing! I did not try everybody on my street but I can say their tool shows 4 houses on either side of me do qualify for fiber service.
God hates me.

I’m definitely being deliberately facetious with the title and premise of this post.
There are many many many far worse things in the universe than not being able to get fiber to the house.
With that being said I was annoyed and was dealing with a tooth condition that ultimately led to a root canal that may have made me go darker than I normally would have.
