I was looking at the new mid-range Dell XPS Gaming machines this morning. I’m interested to see that for otherwise identical configurations the WinXP version is $130 more.
I looked into it further and I’m guessing it is because there bundling Vista Home Premium vs. WinXP Pro. They should have put WinXP Media Center edition to be an apples-to-apples comparison. I suppose that Microsoft requires you to put a TV tuner to be able to sell WinXP Media Center edition. Update: I was looking at the XPS 720s and they come with WinXP Media Center without a TV Tuner.
I guess this is one way to convince gamers to move to Vista.
