More router phun... · May 21, 05:11 PM

Well the replacement router arrived and has the same problem as the first… It took several hours on the phone but now they are going to send me a third router. I strongly suspect it’s going to have the same problem. They assured me if the problem persists they send me a newer model.

However, given my experience that support calls tend to be stateless transactions I’m not holding my breath on that one…

  1. If it’s still the linksys router and cards, make sure you turn off all the power-saving features in your wireless cards. It’s a documented-and-unfixed bug that Linksys’ cards will crash their routers if you turn on the cards power saving features.

  2. Interesting. I don’t have any linksys cards, they’re all integrated into the motherboard.

I’ve tried turning off the power saving parts of those cards anyways. Will let you know if it makes a difference.
