Wow. Hot Russian women, Zombie Stalins, Gorbachov the barbarian, and erotic food innuendo. What else could you possibly need in a music video?
Recently I’ve seen several articles like this one about people complaining that the new iPhone will not support a stylus. This is wanted because the touch interface interface is more difficult to use for people with long fingernails. However some people are accusing Apple of misogyny.
If that’s true, that Apple has an ingrained hatred of women, why would you want to support Apple by buying their products? If it’s such a woman hating product why are one third of the owners women and it has some of the highest satisfaction rates of any phone on the market?
Do you think when Apple was considering what to put in the second gen iPhone, when they considered stylus support, perhaps they decided it was too hard or expensive to put it in, decided that it would be hard to support multitouch with styluses, that it did not work well with their interaction model, or some other technical/design reason? Is the only possible reason that Apple hates women? Of course not!
Although I appreciate their frustration, I don’t like this culture of word inflation. Misogyny is a perfectly valid word but it’s rapidly becoming a codeword to mean “ignore me, I’m an unreasonable person”.
In an apparent attempt to convey a more professional image as a hard news organization, CNN is now offering tee shirts with their headlines and when they were posted on cnn.com.
Reminds me of Cordelia from Buffy: “I don’t know. I just thought we were gonna do something, you know… classy.”
Maybe if they’d do some of the quotes from the many Nancy Grace semen tirades from the Duke Lacrosse case they’d be on to something….

Huh. It looks like the Ang Lee Hulk brought in $245,360,480 at the box office. I guess people liked it after all.
Funny. When I first saw the new Hulk trailer I thought to myself: “Why are they making another one when they made a really good one a just few years ago?” I guess Pat and I are in the minority of liking that one.

I got a weird call about 9:40 tonight. It was a supervisor from Linksys. He could not help me with my problem but wanted to know which of his employees had a bad attitude with me so he could fire them.
I told him that the employees attitudes were fine. They’ve all been very polite to me. The problem was that they could not fix my problem.
He thanked me and hung up.
It locked up again a few minutes after the post.
Router #3 showed up Wednesday.
After running for 8 hours, like clockwork, it locked up. Called support; they elevated the incident and promised a callback within 24 hours. No callback so far.
However, I may have stumbled across the solution. Since they are now supposed to give me a new router I was looking at the newer models. I wanted to make certain that I was not getting the same problematic firmware.
While looking at the 160N (my 150N’s successor), I saw that it had the problematic firmware (1.01.9). However, there was a newer firmware (1.02.4). Looking at the release notes it indicated it was for the 150N 1.X/160N series of routers.
Figuring that I had nothing to loose I installed it. So far it’s been running 16 hours with no problems. I should have had two lockups at this point. If it keeps working until the end of the weekend I’m going to call it fixed.
